Helen LeBlond, aged 84 of Huntsville, Ontario, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 9th, 2016 at Algonquin Grace Hospice, of a massive stroke. Born August 7th, 1931 in North Bay, Ontario, predeceased parents Evelyn (nee Cushing) and Michael Lemke. Sister to Ronnie Mitchell (Lorraine) of Vancouver, BC. Married December 26th, 1949 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in North Bay, Ontario to Homer Vital LeBlond. Helen was a homemaker and caregiver she opened her heart, house and table to anyone in need.North Bay was “home” in Helen’s heart and there were many happy memories for her and her family over the years while visiting and living on Lake Nipissing at Jocko Point. Summer was Helen’s favourite season and her love for this time of the year was evident in her flower and vegetable gardens she nourished them with love and pride annually. Following the lives of her grandchildren and their successes brought her great joy and happiness.
She is survived by her son, Michael, (Diane) of Chilliwack, son, Patrick of Huntsville, daughter Sue (Craig) of Huntsville, son Chris of North Bay and daughter Sandy (Gord) of Port Perry. She has 9 grandchildren Joey, Angela, Tara (Mike and Diane), Morgan and Ben (Patrick), Jim and Trevor (Sue), Jake and Sam (Sandy and Gord). She also has, 4 great grandchildren, Sage, Olivia, Enna and Imogen (Morgan and Paul) and a 5th one expected later this year (Angela and Tim).Their shared tears, laughter and special bond will be deeply missed by her dear friend, sister-in-law and confidant, Theresa LeBlond. She is predeceased by her husband, Homer and her grandchild, Jenna (Sue).
A special thank you everyone that supported Helen and her life over the past few years in particular, Dr. Nancy Bozek, Jeff, her hairdresser and cleaning ladies, Janet, Mel, Tracey, Annie, and Debbie.
Helen loved her dogs and was happiest when teaching tricks to a new puppy or pet sitting for her children or one of their friends. She would be pleased to have any memorial donations made to Muskoka Animal Rescue via their web page. www.muskokaanimalresuce.com
Although her time at Algonquin Grace Hospice was brief, she was immediately loved, nurtured and cared for with the utmost respect and dignity which gave her family great comfort, therefore memorial donations may also be made to Algonquin Grace Hospice, Huntsville.
Following cremation, she will join the love of her life, Homer at St. Mary’s Mausoleum in North Bay, Ontario.
